Are you looking for ways to improve your landscape and make it more productive? Do you want to understand the landscape's natural functions and learn how to work with them for better results?

If so, join us for a field day introducing Natural Sequence Farming (NSF) and its five pillars, hosted at the beautiful Summer Dell Farm in Exeter, NSW. We'll also be joined by Roy Baker of Rosella Regen, the landscape practitioner behind the works implemented on the property, who will share what he's been doing, the processes involved, and the thinking behind each intervention.

A big thank you to our hosts, Susanna Price, Bryan O'Neill and Ken Reiman, for generously sharing the works they've been implementing on their property and opening it up for the day.

How the day runs

We'll start at Sutton Forest Hall for an introduction to what NSF is and how it works, then head out to Summer Dell Farm to see the principles in action on the ground.

Morning: Sutton Forest Hall
We'll open with a discussion of Natural Sequence Farming: the theory, the five pillars, and how reading a landscape changes the way you manage it.

Midday: Summer Dell Farm
From there we'll head to Summer Dell Farm for a guided tour of the works implemented on the property. Roy Baker of Rosella Regen, who has been carrying out the works on site, will walk us through what's been done, why it was done that way, and how the plan is evolving as the landscape responds over time. You'll see firsthand how the landscape has been read, the reasoning behind each intervention, and what's planned as the works continue to develop.

By the end of the day, you'll have a solid grounding in how to read your own landscape, work with its natural functions instead of against them, and start applying these principles to improve soil health, biodiversity, and water retention on your own property. You'll also have the chance to connect with other like-minded landholders passionate about regenerative agriculture.

Schedule:

• 9:00 am – Arrival at Sutton Forest Hall
• 9:30 am – Welcome, introduction, and NSF presentation
• Farm tour at Summer Dell Farm, with Roy Baker of Rosella Regen on the works and processes implemented (walking involved; a 6-seater ATV is available to ferry those who need it)
• Morning tea provided
• Lunch: bring your own (the Sutton Forest Pub is just up the road if you'd prefer to grab something there)

What to bring:

• Solid shoes or gumboots (especially if it's been raining)
• A hat for sun protection
• Water
• Lunch
